TMSS has been firstly know as Thengamara Mohila Sangha from 1964 as a Social Development Organization. On 1980 Prof.Dr. Hosne-Ara Begum reforms the organization as Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha (TMSS) And gradually emerged as the biggest national women organization in Bangladesh. TMSS engaged in uplifting the living condition of the most distressed poor people particularly women and children of both urban and rural areas. TMSS ( Thengamara Mohila Sabuj Sangha) was established with its indigenous title Thengamara Sabuj Sangha (TSS) at a village Thengamara under sadar Upazila of Bofra District in 1964 with the approval of social service/ welfare Department under Registration no 1494 Dated 10th Novembdr 1964. In 1971 during liberation war of Bangladesh all documents of TSS were burnt and the functions of TSS was stopped. Later on in 1980 the authority of TSS expressed there incapability to run the activities of TSS and decided to handover TSS to Prof. Dr. Hosne Ara Begum legally and with full authority. Prof. Dr. Hosne Ara Begum reformed TSS as TMSS by an amendment resolution which incorporated the Bengali word '' Mohila'' keeping in view the empowerment of women and got it approved as TMSS from the district social welfare Department, Bogra. According to the decision of the existing majority members. Prof. Dr. Hosne Ara Begum became the Founder Chief Executive of TMSS and under her dynamic leadership and prudent guidance till now the socio- economic development activities of TMSS are being run across the country in order to achieve its cherished Goal and Objectives.
